Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller Reviews & Features
Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller has been built for the needs of your expanding family. Modern and made from aluminium, it is lightweight, easy to use and weighs only 34 lbs so that anyone can operate it without difficulty.
It is 15% lighter than most similar strollers on the market. Each seat has a maximum limit of 20 pounds or 40 in total. Let's go through all the features.
More About the Seats
The Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller is the only double stroller that fits KeyFit and KeyFit 30 car seats for infants (these are sold separately). You can easily attach them by using a click-in system.
It allows you to travel with two infants or two toddlers easily. This will also save you money, as you can use the seats both in your car and for the stroller.
Our seats are ones of the tallest on the market and thus very comfortable, even for older kids. The rear seat is fully-reclining and can be used as a bassinet. In addition, the material used for the seats is firm but still gentle and comfortable for the skin.
The bad thing is that neither seat has a leg rest which leaves legs falling to the plastic foot pad. If your baby isn't tall enough, their legs will just dangle. As this might be rather uncomfortable for the child, we think that a leg rest should be included.
On the plus side, both seats offer a recline feature that you can operate with only one hand. However, we fear that even the reclined position can be uncomfortable for the passengers, because of the missing leg rest.
What About Storage?
Storage is one of our main concerns, and that is why we liked this giant storage bag with a zipper, accessible from the back, even when the back seat is fully reclined. You can use it to store your diaper bag, even a very big one (maximum allowance of 10 pounds). Even though some storage bags are more accessible (like those in side-by-side strollers), this one still beats the competition. Furthermore, a tray and two cup holders are at your disposal. There isn't a child's tray, but there is a bumper for the front seat, which you can replace with two cup holders when your child grows up a bit.
This is perfect for older children. As the back seat doesn't have this option, it might be the less favorite one. Your children could fight over the front seat, so that might turn into a problem.
Cortina's front wheels are 8" and back wheels are 9". Dual front wheels are plastic, which makes it a bit hard to push and turn. The ride could be a bit rocky, which is neither desirable nor comfortable. Handling curbs is also problematic due to the length of this double stroller.
However, they ride pretty well over uneven surfaces. If you have older kids, pushing the stroller can be a bit harder, so we recommend putting your heavier child in the back seat. This way it will be much easier to maneuver.
The Cortina brakes are sandal and slipper friendly, which is great, especially if you live in hot areas and don't want to wear shoes or sneakers just to be able to operate your stroller. Pushing on the brakes shouldn't be a hassle, and it has been made pretty simple and easy with the Cortina. Even slender people can operate these brakes without additional effort.
There is an adjustable 5-point harness placed on each seat of the Chicco Cortina Together Stroller. Putting the harness on is quick while taking it off may be a bit more difficult, but no one would like their children to be able to take it off themselves, right? Adjusting the height of the shoulder straps is also very easy.
However, the strap that goes between the crotch is not adjustable, which may be problematic with older children. Both upper and lower straps have to be connected in order for you to insert them into the buckle, which is another safety feature. Unbuckling can be done with one hand only.
Let's be honest, if you have a double stroller, it has to be big and a bit heavy. With a big family, there comes a big car and a big stroller. Of course, we don't think this should be a problem. Although big when folded, Chicco Cortina Double Stroller is easy to fold once you get a hold of it. However, it is almost the double as the smallest folded stroller on the market. It takes more space than some other strollers, so we wouldn't recommend it to parents with compact cars.
Most tandem inline strollers have disappointing sunshades. Unfortunately, this is the case with the Cortina as well. Overall, the stadium-style strollers have better canopies.
Both sunshades on the Chicco Cortina Double Stroller can rotate to block lower sun or wind, but they can't block both the front and the back at the same time. Also, they are pretty small, so we don't think they can even cover your babie's faces completely.
There is a small peek-a-boo window, but you can hardly see your child through it. Plus, the canopies are so small that you can always see your child. Consequently, the window is totally unnecessary.
The fabric is kind of wrinkled no matter in which position the sunshades are. The only thing that is good about the sunshades on the Cortina stroller is that they offer ventilation.

Is It Easy to Set Up?
We had a hard time putting this stroller together. It takes a long time just to unbox it and start working on it. The packaging is very complicated and hard to manage. This is a feature that needs the most upgrading. Chicco Cortina Double Stroller manual is included, which may help a bit.
What About Quality?
The Chicco brand is well-known for its quality, and the double stroller is no exception. The fabric of the Cortina stroller looks very nice. It has firm padding and an extremely useful storage basket. The material used for the basket is thicker and heavier than other materials on the stroller.
This is because the basket is big and you can fit almost anything inside of it, no matter how heavy. The handlebar feels good in the hand, and you can adjust it to fit your needs. The bar is also a bit bigger than on most strollers, which is a plus in our opinion.
The frame consists of many plastic components so that is why it might be a bit hard to steer. The wheels are also plastic and not so functional, as we already mentioned.
Ideal for Twins
If you are expecting twins, the Cortina Together is what you are looking for. It can fit two Chicco infant car seats. However, it is only compatible with the Chicco Keyfit 30 and the Keyfit. It is very convenient since you don't have to remove the canopy or the seat to attach the car seats.
The seats click into place and are easier to attach and remove than most seats we tried. More than half of the competition accepts only one infant seat or none at all.
The only problem is that there are differences in features and functionality from one seat to another. The reclining angle, leg room, canopy size and cup holders are not the same for both seats.
This might result in a disagreement, as older children will want to choose the seat with better options. As a result, you may find yourself constantly trying to calm your children down and figure out whose turn it is in the "better" seat.
For those of you who like being active and spending time outdoors, this will come as good news. This stroller can be used as Chicco Double Jogging Stroller.
Due to its form, you can safely jog while enjoying the company of your children. This is a great way to bond and spend some quality time in fresh air. Your children will learn to appreciate nature from an early age.
The Cortina is priced at $300, which is on the lower end price when it comes to such double strollers. If you take its design, size, and functionality into account, you will come to the conclusion that this price is somewhat suitable.
It is often believed that a higher price means higher quality, but this is not always the case. We are firm believers in quality, and the Cortina has, on the one hand, fulfilled our expectations. On the other hand, a couple of requirements were not met.
Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller
After careful consideration, we have come to the conclusion that Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller is a good stroller for your kids. Its flexible seats can offer various positions for your children (infants and toddlers both).
It is the only stroller that fits the two most rated infant car seats, which is a huge plus. Furthermore, ample space is at your disposal, so you needn't worry about carrying an extra bag on your shoulder. You can easily fit it in the bag under the back seat.
If you are looking for ways to stay fit but find it hard to exercise while taking care of children, look no further. Chicco Double Jogging Stroller is a perfect way to spend time with your little ones while maintaining your condition and being in good health.
Although there are more than a few drawbacks, we still think this stroller will meet many parent's requirements. In conclusion, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
