We delight in seeing things grow in life…children, trees, even our savings accounts. If growth yields so much goodness, then why do many women fail to see the beauty in their bodies as they grow throughout pregnancy? Pregnancy is truly a remarkable time in a woman’s life when all of the physical changes are happening for a miraculous reason: a baby (or babies!) is growing inside of you! We know we’re going to love that baby more than life itself, so why is it a struggle to love the changes in our bodies if the baby needs those changes in order to be healthy?
Believe it or not, making an effort to exercise a little bit each day during your pregnancy can make the physical changes in your body seem like a blessing. Not only will exercise lift your spirits and increase your energy, but it will give you an appreciation for the work that your body is doing on the inside. Exercise promotes muscle tone, strength, and endurance, which helps the body carry the necessary weight increase more easily. In addition, exercise prepares the body for the physical stress of labor. Ultimately, exercise makes getting back into shape after the baby is born much easier.
Here at Fit2Bmom, we are growing every week. Just this week in fact, People Magazine featured us on their Celebrity Baby Blog. While we’ve faced some challenges as a growing company, the beauty we feel in knowing that women benefit from our brand and products make the day-to-day growing pains worthwhile. Not to mention, a love letter from Ugly Betty actress Ana Ortiz doesn’t hurt!
So when you’re feeling bummed that you can’t fit into your favorite pair of jeans, don’t give in to the temptation to lie on the couch and eat an entire bag of chocolates – again! Instead, throw on your favorite fitness gear, grab an apple, and get some exercise. Healthy living is essential to the health of your baby and keeps you feeling and looking positively beautiful from the inside out.

Lovely post and thoroughly agree, glad to see Fit2bmom are coming along well. We at Mums and Tums are a small growing company and I think share a lot of the same ideals. Keep up the good work!
